Travel & stay
Getting here & where to stay
Everything for the trip itself — how to reach Tunis, and where to base yourself once you've landed.
Getting here
There are two airports to fly into: Tunis–Carthage (TUN), about 15 to 20 minutes from the venues, and Enfidha–Hammamet (NBE), about 1.5 hours away by transfer. London has direct flights to both. Manchester and Liverpool only fly direct to Enfidha–Hammamet, so travelling from those cities means either the longer transfer at the end, or connecting via London to land at Tunis–Carthage instead.
Both venues are around a 15-minute drive from each other, so wherever you're staying you're close to both nights.

The same pattern applies on the way home. Liverpool guests, plan around Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, as those are the only days that route flies.
One to flag: airport transfer packages (the car/minibus from the airport to your hotel) sold by some UK travel companies for the Enfidha–Hammamet route tend to be pricier than local norms. Worth holding off for now, we'll share better options in the WhatsApp group once everyone's RSVPed.
Where to stay
You'll find lots of places to stay in the La Marsa and Gammarth areas, so please book whatever suits you best. We've suggested two below to make things simple. Most people so far are going for El Mouradi Gammarth, and the Four Seasons is the venue itself, so you can fall straight into bed at the end of the night.
Where most guests are planning to stay
El Mouradi Gammarth
A relaxed beachfront hotel with pools and a spa. You'll be a few minutes from the venue and staying with most of the other UK guests attending.
Worth double-checking: there are several El Mouradi hotels across Tunisia, so make sure it's El Mouradi Gammarth you've got, not the one in Hammamet.
Roughly
£100–£160 (390–635 TND) per room, per night
Includes
Room only, half board and full board options available
Distance
About 800 yards from the Four Seasons wedding venue
The wedding venue itself, a five-star hotel above the bay at Gammarth, with sea-view rooms, three pools and a spa.
Roughly
From around £330 per room, per night, rising to about £480 for a sea view
Includes
Room only — meals charged separately

FAQs
Good to know
While you're here
Tunis rewards more than a weekend. Sidi Bou Said, the Roman ruins at Carthage and the seafront at La Marsa are all a short taxi ride from where you'll be staying, so if you can stretch the trip beyond the weekend's events, it's well worth it.
A number of our UK guests are already planning to make a longer trip of it, and there should be plenty of familiar faces around from the Tuesday before the wedding right through to the Monday and Tuesday after. Once everyone's RSVPed, we'll look to connect people up via WhatsApp to make any plans we might want to do as a group beforehand.
Here's a map of some things to see and do in the La Marsa area.
Getting around
Taxis are easy to arrange straight from the hotel, and on the ground it's worth downloading Bolt before you travel, it's the preferred local ride-hailing app and by far the easiest way to get around Tunis.
El Mouradi Gammarth is only about 800 yards from the Four Seasons, an easy walk if you'd rather stretch your legs after the flight. Taxis are so widely available, and everything in this guide sits so close together, that you won't need to hire a car.
Weather
Late March in Tunis sits at the start of spring, think mild days, cooler evenings and the occasional breeze off the coast. Some years run warmer, with daytime highs reaching the low twenties, so it isn't always as cool as the typical figures below suggest.
It can turn noticeably cooler once the sun goes down, so it's worth packing a layer for the evenings. Both venues are fully indoors, so neither evening depends on the forecast, and if Saturday's weather is kind, part of the wedding may open out onto the Four Seasons' patio. Either way, there's nothing you need to plan around.
18–22°C
Typical daytime high
9–12°C
Typical overnight low
Typical late-March conditions for Tunis, always worth a check closer to the time.
Currency & language
The local currency is the Tunisian Dinar (TND). Card is widely accepted in almost every hotel, restaurant and taxi you'll use (including Bolt), so you won't need much cash, though it's worth carrying a small amount for tips and smaller vendors.
Tipping isn't obligatory but is customary, typically 10–15% depending on the level of service.
Tunisia's official languages are Arabic and French. French will be understood by everyone at the wedding, and quite a few guests will also speak English. No need to learn any of this, but here's a handy little guide if you fancy trying out a few words or phrases while you're in Tunisia:

Booking El Mouradi Gammarth
It's a big hotel, more than 500 rooms, and we expect availability on the UK travel sites to open up through the rest of the year. Booking through one of those or directly with the hotel is entirely your choice.
Love Holidays is the only UK platform with rooms available right now.
Booking.com, Expedia and Hotels.com don't have the full allocation yet. The hotel releases rooms to them in stages, so more will appear later in the year. If you'd rather book through one of those, check back nearer the time.
Booking direct gets you the rate we've agreed with the hotel. Email both addresses below, with Green wedding in the subject line:
Agreed room rates at El Mouradi Gammarth, per room per night
Per room, per night
Rate
Single, full board
£95 (377 TND)
Double, full board
£145 (575 TND)
Superior room supplement
£13 (50 TND)
Tourist tax is charged on top, roughly £3 (12 TND) per person per night for UK passport holders. These rates were agreed with the hotel until 31 August 2026 and may change after that.
A few extra practicalities
Visa
UK passport holders don't need a visa to enter Tunisia, just make sure your passport has at least six months' validity left from your travel date.
Time zone
Tunisia is on GMT+1, an hour ahead of the UK, worth remembering when you're booking flights or planning pickups.
Plug sockets
The same two-pin European type used across most of the continent, not the UK three-pin, so pack an adaptor.
Gifts
We don't expect any gifts, having you there celebrating with us is more than enough. There's no registry.
